Hi there! I'm in US on my business trip now. During the dinner with some natives and Europeans, I heard the phrase: How many generations back can you trace your family tree? Most of people in US whom I was talking to can answer this question. It was interesting to me, because they love their family trees and roots of their blood. One guy said like this, "From Czech, 5 generations I can go back. That's why I love beer!" Most American and Europeans can count the family generations, but this made me think "how many Japanese can count it?" Last week, I was chatting with my colleagues in lunch time about a family crest. I know my family crest and it's "違い鷹の羽 - Chigai Taka no Ha", but all persons who are there don't know own crest... Maybe Europeans or American know the own family crest at least, I think... Is this big problem for Japanese, isn't it? Updated! And I have noticed, I'm one of them who doesn't know ...
